Sylvain Audette did Ph.D. studies in Measurement and Evaluation in Education and holds a Master’s in Education. He has a 20-year track record of innovative thinking, selling ideas, and successfully implementing commercial strategies in many sectors of the economy. He’s a guest professor at HEC Montréal and member of the Research Chair in Energy Sector Management. Before becoming a full-time professor in the marketing department at HEC Montréal, he was Senior Director of Rate and Regulatory Affairs for a large energy company in Canada. Previously, he was also in charge of Marketing Strategy, Market Research, Packaging and Price Setting in the private sector.
He started his career working for “Leger – Research and Marketing Strategy”, an important marketing research firm based in Montréal. There, among other things, he did market research and developed marketing strategies and tactics in the entertainment industry in order to boost attendance and justify adequate investment.
On the international arena, he has given many seminars to numerous companies in China, Central America, the Middle East, and Africa for HEC Montréal. He’s very involved with many international program initiatives with HEC, and he has taught Marketing, Market Intelligence, and Demand Management in MBA, DESS and M.Sc. programs.
